As well being a qualified Art teacher, Helen initially trained as a Graphic Designer in the mid-eighties and worked in the creative and communications industry for over 22 years. In 2010 Helen took a career break and returned to university to complete her degree in Illustration and Printmaking with First class honours.
Helen has exhibited in the Mall galleries and Truman gallery in London and in Manhatten, New York, and alongside artists such as Damien Hirst, Barbara Rae, Peter Blake, Rolf Harris and Anneka Rice and has worked with the BBC as a featured Artist.
Helen’s work spans a variety of disciplines and mixed media. Her practice forms a process of exploration of many aspects of cultural, observational, historical and mythical references.
She likes to experiment with a cross section of mediums in order to encapsulate the essence of her subject matter and maximize her creativity. This includes the use of many processes such as photo-transfer, etchings, mono printing, pen, ink and watercolour.
Helen will continue to explore these processes to create more new and exciting images to broaden her knowledge and skill base to continue to create new and exciting art.
